Definition
体温升高,超过正常范围,通常由疾病引起。也比喻对某事物极度热衷。
An elevated body temperature, above the normal range, usually caused by illness. Also metaphorically refers to being extremely enthusiastic about something.
Usage
“发烧”有两个主要用法:一是字面意思,指生病发烧;二是比喻用法,形容对某事物非常狂热、着迷,如“发烧友”指爱好某一事物到痴迷程度的人。
"发烧" has two main usages: the literal meaning refers to having a fever due to illness; the figurative usage describes being extremely passionate or obsessed with something, e.g., "发烧友" means an enthusiast or fanatic.
