Definition

复杂的有机化合物在微生物作用下分解成比较简单物质的过程。泛指事物的变化或发展。

The process by which complex organic compounds are broken down into simpler substances by the action of microorganisms. Also refers to the change or development of things.

Usage

通常用于描述微生物作用下的化学变化,也可比喻事物从酝酿到发展的过程。

Usually used to describe chemical changes under the action of microorganisms, and can also metaphorically refer to the process from brewing to development.
