To show respect for someone but keep one's distance, unwilling or afraid to get close.

Usage

常用于形容对某人或某事既尊敬又疏远的态度,多因敬畏、不认同或避免麻烦。

Often used to describe an attitude of respectful distance toward someone or something, due to awe, disagreement, or to avoid trouble.
