指具有较高文化水平、从事脑力劳动的人，如教师、医生、工程师、科学家、作家等。

Usage

用于指代社会群体中具有专业知识和文化素养的人，常与体力劳动者相对。在现代汉语中，有时带有褒义，指关心社会、有责任感的知识分子。

Used to refer to a social group of people with specialized knowledge and cultural refinement, often contrasted with manual workers. In modern Chinese, sometimes carries positive connotations, referring to intellectuals who care about society and have a sense of responsibility.
