Definition

送别即将离去的人。

To see someone off; to bid farewell to someone who is leaving.

Usage

用于主人或亲友在离别时为即将出发的人送别,通常发生在车站、机场、码头等地点。

Used when the host or friends and family see off someone who is about to depart, usually at stations, airports, docks, etc.

Examples

  • 1 他明天出国,我们几个好朋友去机场送行。 (He is going abroad tomorrow, so several of his good friends went to the airport to see him off.)
  • 2 公司为退休的老经理举行了送行会。 (The company held a farewell party for the retiring manager.)
  • 3 列车开动了,站台上送行的人群还在挥手。 (The train started moving, and the crowd on the platform was still waving.)
  • 4 我来为你送行,祝一路顺风。 (I've come to see you off; wish you a smooth journey.)
  • 5 离别时,送行的人依依不舍。 (When parting, the people seeing you off were reluctant to let go.)
