Definition

中文大数系统使用独特的计数单位，每四位一组：个、十、百、千、万、亿、兆等。通常用于表示大数值，如人口、经济数据等。

The Chinese large number system uses unique counting units grouped in sets of four digits: 个, 十, 百, 千, 万, 亿, 兆, etc. Commonly used for large numbers like population, economic data.

Usage

读数时从高位读起，先读数字再读单位。例如：123456789 读作“一亿二千三百四十五万六千七百八十九”。注意：万位后是亿位，每四位一个单位。

Read from the highest place, first the digit then the unit. For example: 123456789 is read as '一亿二千三百四十五万六千七百八十九'. Note: after 万 comes 亿, with a new unit every four digits.

  • 1 中国人口约为十四亿。 (China's population is about 1.4 billion.)
  • 2 这个城市年GDP达到一万亿。 (This city's annual GDP reaches one trillion.)
  • 3 太阳距地球约一亿五千万公里。 (The sun is about 150 million kilometers from Earth.)
