Causative verbs in Chinese are verbs that indicate 'make', 'let', 'have', etc., used to express that the subject causes the object to perform an action or be in a certain state. Common causative verbs include '让' (ràng), '叫' (jiào), '使' (shǐ), '令' (lìng), '请' (qǐng), etc.
Usage
使役动词通常用在‘主语 + 使役动词 + 宾语 + 动词短语’的结构中。例如：‘妈妈让我做作业。’其中‘让’是使役动词，‘我’是宾语，‘做作业’是动词短语。注意，使役动词后的动词短语可以是不及物动词、及物动词或形容词短语。
Causative verbs are typically used in the structure 'Subject + Causative Verb + Object + Verb Phrase'. For example: '妈妈让我做作业' (Mom made me do homework). Here, '让' is the causative verb, '我' is the object, and '做作业' is the verb phrase. Note that the verb phrase after the causative verb can be an intransitive verb, transitive verb, or adjective phrase.
