Definition

“了”用于表示状态变化，即从一种状态变为另一种状态。

“le” is used to indicate a change of state, i.e., from one state to another.

Usage

常用于描述过去发生的变化，或即将发生的变化。通常放在句子末尾。

Often used to describe changes that have occurred in the past, or changes about to happen. Typically placed at the end of a sentence.

Examples

  • 1 我饿了。 (I am hungry.)
  • 2 天黑了。 (It became dark.)
  • 3 他长大了。 (He has grown up.)
  • 4 花开了。 (The flowers have bloomed.)
  • 5 我明白了。 (I understand now.)
