Definition
反而表示转折,强调事情的结果与预期或常理相反;相反表示两个事物互相对立或不同。

Usage
反而用作副词,连接前后分句,前面常有‘不但不/没有…’等否定结构;相反可用作形容词(如‘相反的方向’)或独立使用(如‘恰恰相反’),也可作连词(如‘相反,…’)。
