Definition

表示原因或理由，相当于“因为”。

Indicates the cause or reason, equivalent to 'because of' or 'due to'.

Usage

用于句首或句中，引出原因或理由。后面接名词、动词短语或小句。常与“所以”、“因此”等连用。

Used at the beginning or middle of a sentence to introduce the cause or reason. It is followed by a noun, verb phrase, or clause. Often used with '所以' (so) or '因此' (therefore).

Examples

  • 1 由于天气不好，航班取消了。（Due to the bad weather, the flight was canceled.）
  • 2 由于他的努力，项目终于完成了。（Thanks to his efforts, the project was finally completed.）
  • 3 由于缺乏经验，他犯了一个错误。（Due to lack of experience, he made a mistake.）
