Definition

表示让步，承认某种情况，但指出结果不会改变。相当于“即使”。

Indicates concession, acknowledging a certain situation but emphasizing that the outcome won't change. Equivalent to 'even if'.

Usage

通常用于复句的前一分句中，后一分句用‘也’、‘还’等呼应，表示结果或结论不受前面条件的影响。也可以单独使用在句首。

Typically used in the first clause of a complex sentence, with the second clause using '也' or '还' to indicate that the result or conclusion is not affected by the previous condition. Can also be used alone at the beginning of a sentence.

Examples

  • 1 就是下雨，我也要去。 (Even if it rains, I still have to go.)
  • 2 就是你不说，我也知道。 (Even if you don't tell me, I know.)
  • 3 就是再难，我们也要完成。 (Even if it's more difficult, we still have to finish.)
  • 4 就是天塌下来，也不能放弃。 (Even if the sky falls, you can't give up.)
  • 5 就是他反对，我也不会改变主意。 (Even if he objects, I won't change my mind.)
  • 6 就是没有钱，生活也要继续。 (Even if there is no money, life must go on.)
