Definition

表示在已提及的事物或情况之外，补充另一个事物或情况。

Indicates an additional thing or situation beyond what has been mentioned.

Usage

可作为副词或连词使用。副词时放在动词前，表示另外做某事；连词时放在句首，连接两个句子表示补充。

Can be used as an adverb or conjunction. As an adverb, it is placed before a verb to mean 'additionally do something'; as a conjunction, it is placed at the beginning of a sentence to connect two clauses, adding supplementary information.

Examples

  • 1 我去超市买了牛奶、面包和水果，另外还买了鸡蛋。（I went to the supermarket and bought milk, bread, and fruit, and also bought eggs.）
  • 2 这个任务需要报告和演示文稿，另外还要准备一个视频。（This task requires a report and a presentation, and additionally, you need to prepare a video.）
  • 3 他不仅会说英语，另外还会说法语和德语。（He not only speaks English, but also speaks French and German.）
  • 4 我们打算去北京旅游，另外还想去上海看看。（We plan to travel to Beijing, and additionally, we want to visit Shanghai.）
  • 5 这本书很有趣，另外知识量也很丰富。（This book is very interesting, and additionally, it is rich in knowledge.）
