Definition
好作为连词,表示目的,相当于“以便”、“为了”。常用于后一小句的开头,说明前一个动作的目的。
As a conjunction, '好' indicates purpose, equivalent to 'so that' or 'in order to'. It is often used at the beginning of a following clause to express the purpose of the previous action.
Usage
通常用于口语,结构为“动词短语1,好+动词短语2”,表示做某事以便做另一件事。有时也可说“好让”等。
Commonly used in spoken Chinese, the structure is 'verb phrase 1, 好 + verb phrase 2', meaning to do something so that another thing can be done. It can also be used as '好让' (so that) etc.
Examples
- 1 你早点睡觉,明天好有精神上课。 (Go to bed early so that you can be energetic for class tomorrow.)
- 2 我把菜买回来了,你好做饭。 (I bought the vegetables back so that you can cook.)
- 3 你多带点钱,好买东西。 (Bring more money so that you can buy things.)
- 4 我提前完成了工作,好早点儿回家。 (I finished work early so that I could go home earlier.)
