Structure

这 / 那 + Measure Word + Noun

Definition

”和“那”是汉语中的指示代词,分别表示近指和远指。使用时后面必须跟一个量词(如“个”、“本”、“张”等),再跟名词,形成“/那 + 量词 + 名词”的结构。

” (this) and “那” (that) are demonstrative pronouns in Chinese, indicating proximity and distance respectively. When used, they must be followed by a measure word (such as '个', '本', '张') and then a noun, forming the structure 'this/that + measure word + noun'.

Usage

使用“”和“那”时,量词的选择取决于所修饰的名词。例如,“书”用“本”,“人”用“个”,“桌子”用“张”。句子中,“”表示离说话者近的事物,“那”表示离说话者远的事物。

When using 'this' and 'that', the measure word is chosen based on the noun being modified. For example, 'book' uses '本', 'person' uses '个', 'table' uses '张'. In a sentence, '' refers to something near the speaker, '那' refers to something far from the speaker.

Examples

  • 1 本书是我的。 (This book is mine.)
  • 2 那个人是谁? (Who is that person?)
  • 3 你看到张桌子了吗? (Did you see this table?)
  • 4 那三只猫很可爱。 (Those three cats are very cute.)
  • 5 杯咖啡太烫了。 (This cup of coffee is too hot.)
