Definition

“了吗”结构用于提问，询问是否已经发生某种变化或完成某个动作。其中，“了”表示动作的完成或状态的变化，“吗”是疑问语气词。

The 'le ma' structure is used in questions to ask whether a change of state has occurred or an action has been completed. 'Le' indicates completion or change of state, and 'ma' is a question particle.

Usage

通常用在动词或形容词后，构成一般疑问句，询问对方是否已经完成某动作或进入某种状态。回答时可以用“了”（表示已经）或“还没”（表示还没有）。

It is typically placed after a verb or adjective to form a yes-no question, asking if the action has been completed or if a state has been attained. Responses often use 'le' (already) or 'hai mei' (not yet).
