Definition

结果补语“到”表示动作达到目的或到达某个状态；“见”表示通过感官察觉到某事物或动作有了结果。

Result complements 'dao4' indicates that an action achieves a goal or reaches a certain state; 'jian4' indicates perceiving something through senses or that an action has yielded a result.

Usage

“到”用于动词后，表示动作达到了目的，如“看到”“找到”；或表示动作到达某个时间、地点或状态，如“做到”“等到”。“见”用于动词后，表示通过视觉、听觉等感官察觉到，如“看见”“听见”；或表示动作有了结果，如“碰见”“遇见”。

'dao4' is used after verbs to indicate that the action achieves its purpose, e.g., 'kàn dào' (see), 'zhǎo dào' (find); or to indicate reaching a time, place, or state, e.g., 'zuò dào' (achieve), 'děng dào' (wait until). 'jian4' is used after verbs to indicate perception through senses like sight or hearing, e.g., 'kàn jiàn' (see), 'tīng jiàn' (hear); or to indicate that an action has resulted in something, e.g., 'pèng jiàn' (run into), 'yù jiàn' (meet).
