Definition

“也”和“都”连用表示所有主体共同具有某种特征或行为，强调无一例外。

The combination of '也' (yě) and '都' (dōu) emphasizes that all subjects share a certain characteristic or action without exception.

Usage

常用于主语为复数或集合概念时，结构为“主语 + 也都 + 谓语”，有时可省略“也”或“都”但连用加强语气。

Commonly used when the subject is plural or collective; the structure is 'subject + 也都 + predicate'. Sometimes either '也' or '都' can be omitted, but using both strengthens the emphasis.

Examples

  • 1 我们也都喜欢吃辣。 (We all also like to eat spicy food.)
  • 2 他们也都参加了昨天的会议。 (They all also attended yesterday's meeting.)
