常用于表示物体尺寸变小、范围缩小，或动作、情绪上的后退、畏缩。

Often used to indicate a decrease in size or scope, or a backward movement in action or emotion.

1 布用水洗了之后会缩。(The cloth will shrink after washing.)
2 经济不景气，公司计划缩编员工。(Due to the economic downturn, the company plans to downsize employees.)
3 看到蛇，他吓得缩了一下。(Seeing the snake, he flinched in fear.)
4 这篇文章需要缩到一千字以内。(This article needs to be shortened to within 1,000 words.)
